As my teammates told me while listening to me talk, I can’t help but be very excited and proud of how far along we have come with DISS Analytics. I want to thank all of them for their dedication, hard work and creativity. I’ve had a vision for this for a long time, but I can’t get any of it done without this excellent team. We strive to create something that will make a mark in this world by making the lives of the users easier. I’ll skip any further mention of F1 because it is a bit out of my element, but if all goes well, I’ll be there for the first race in Las Vegas next year, so that I’m definitely looking forward to.

I wasn’t feeling at top speed for today’s podcast which makes the question that Mariel asked us even more relevant. As a kid, when you aren’t feeling at your best you tend to ignore all your duties, but as an adult most of the times you simply can’t. You shouldn’t do it every time and risk your health in the process, but there are many times when you just need “to suck it up” and carry on with your responsibilities even when you aren’t at 100%. This isn’t to say that you should put responsibilities above health, but sometimes doing something even when you don’t feel at your best ends up actually working out for the better. For example, how many times have we told ourselves, “Self, you are too tired today or you are “injured” you simply should not do that workout!” only to end up doing the workout and feeling absolutely invigorated and ready to conquer the world. This is part of adulthood. Some of us get to it faster (like Michael) and sadly others never even get there, but for those that do, you know there is something magical that happens to you and to those around you. May all of us experience the magic of growing up without ever stopping being a kid.

Today we celebrated my birthday!! 😂 By the time the podcast is released I will already be 50 years old. In some respects I feel every single day of those 50 years and in others I still feel like a 12 year old kid. I’ve been lucky in that the downs have been few and the ups have been lots during this first 50. Been blessed to be surround by an awesome family, friends and co-workers. I hope for more of the same in the next decades. Also, it was eye opening to hear that Michael has really worked hard on being a good dancer and that dance was one of the things that kept him “company” during some of his long overseas trips. I can hardly wait to see Emily, our resident dance expert, on the same dance floor with Michael. Now you know that even if you don’t have a need for DISS Analytics, we can still at least go cut some rug on the dance floor with you. 😉

Today we talked about two of my favorite subjects: food and security. First of all, I’m not a huge fast food junkie, but I’m also not the healthiest of people when it comes to food 😬. So this question about my favorite fast food was definitely one that was right up my alley and for sure fried chicken is something that I really enjoy. Particularly the succulent recipes of the “Pica Pollo” places in the Dominican Republic. There are literally hundreds of “Pica Pollo” places in the Dominican Republic and some of them are simply outstanding. If you find the right ones, it is worthy of a flight just to check it out.
